You are viewing the Resources for the older version of JourneyApps (V3). JourneyApps V4 is the new default for all new apps since July 1, 2016.

Overview

JourneyApps offers the ability to create "custom-branded" versions of the JourneyApps Container for iOS or Android. This means that you can create versions of the "JourneyApps Container" native container app with your own name and icon, whilst under the hood it works exactly the same as the JourneyApps-branded Container from the Play Store / App Store.

A hypothetical example of a custom-branded container is shown below:

You can link a custom-branded JourneyApps Container to any JourneyApps application — there are no restrictions regarding which apps that you've built you can link it to. Each custom-branded JourneyApps Container is completely separate on the mobile device and can have its own user enrollment and data. This means that you can have multiple custom-branded JourneyApps Container apps installed on the same device at the same time. If you are building a variety of demos for your customers, you can keep them all installed and enrolled on your demo device and switch between them as needed.

Limitations: Android versus iOS

Due to Android's open policies, it is extremely easy for us to create and for you to distribute custom-branded JourneyApps Container apps through the Play Store or through any other means (for example, making the APK install file available at a URL or distributing it through a Mobile Device Management system).

On iOS, however, custom-branded apps are subject to Apple's very strict guidelines. In order for us to build an app with your company's branding, Apple requires you to obtain your own Apple Developer account/certificate. Furthermore, the app would have to be distributed through the App Store (and therefore be subject to Apple's strict Review Guidelines), or be distributed through the Volume Purchase Program (VPP) or Enterprise Program. Please contact us for more information (see below).

How to Request Custom Branded Apps

Custom-branded apps currently have to be built manually by the JourneyApps team. Please contact Support, requesting that we build a custom-brandend JourneyApps container for you. There are no additional charges for this service.

Please include the following information when requesting a custom branded JourneyApps Container:

  • High-resolution versions of the app icon: 512x512 resolution.
  • Name of the app that will appear underneath the icon on the mobile device, and in the titlebar when the app is open
  • Color theme choice (OPTIONAL) — see below for details.

Color Themes

In custom branded versions of the JourneyApps Container, it is possible to customize the standard "turqoise and green" color scheme used by default in the JourneyApps-branded Container.

If you would like to use a custom color theme, please supply the following information:

  • Primary Color: Six-digit hexidecimal color code for the primary color.
  • Secondary Color: Six-digit hexidecimal color code for the secondary color.
Please note that both colors need to be dark so that white text will be readable on them.

Standard Color Themes

We've designed a number of standard color themes that you can use for inspiration. You can download this PDF which shows the standard color themes.
